Where Bedelia Spirit began...

The original "Spirit Bags" began as a craft at Cub Camp, '...many moons ago'. A Cub Leader for many years, I have learned that powerful magic is made around a campfire.

Magic also happens, where we gather around the craft table, covered in beads and leather and sinew, creating magic with our hands, fueled by our imagination and individual desires.

In these little bags, I strive to honour my Scottish/Celtic ancestors, and the ancestors of the land I am privileged to live on, here in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Medicine Bags were an essential part of the Spiritual practice of the Mississaugas of the Credit, and other Anishnaabe peoples, upon whose (stolen, for treaty promises were broken) lands my home is built.

The power of many friendships, forged at campfires and craft tables, my personal power of Love and Positive intent: All this and more, is sewn into every bag: stitch by stitch, and bead by bead.

My shop name, "Bedelia Spirit", honours my personal Goddess, Bride (Brigid), said to be 'Triple Goddess': Fire of inspiration (my poetry), Fire of health (healing, fertility), Fire of the forge (Smithcraft -- honouring both campfires and beads, forged in metal).
